  • Job Title: Senior Product Owner - AI Platform, Data Engineering & ML Ops
    Salary: £65,900 - £78,000 + up to 15% bonus + Private Medical
    Location: Hybrid - travel to Manchester and London required on occasion (Ideally Manchester once a week) 
    Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week (9:00am – 5:30pm)
    Job Status: Permanent

    What you’ll be working on

    • Own the AI Platforms, ML Ops and Data Engineering, vision and roadmap.
    • Build and curate a unified data layer (pipelines, features, registry, observability) that provides the customer and product intelligence needed for accurate, scalable and safe AI experiences.
    • Define our AI strategy across predictive (propensity, pricing, churn), generative (LLM/RAG chatbots, assistants) and agentic (Voice AI, automated workflows) to improve conversion, retention, operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
    • Deliver high‑value AI use cases, including:
      • Top‑of-funnel optimisation to boost engagement and conversion.
      • Experiences that deepen loyalty and improve CRM effectiveness.
      • Voice AI and automation that drive operational efficiency.
      • Identify additional opportunities demonstrating clear ROI, implementation efforts and rationale for prioritisation
    • Lead a multidisciplinary squad with strong ML, CI/CD, evaluation, monitoring and Responsible AI standards.
    • Set clear success signals and guardrails (conversion uplift, deflection uplift, NPS/CSAT, cost‑to‑serve, safety, drift).
    • Translate needs into clear stories backed by instrumentation and A/B testing.

    • Exceptional communicator who simplifies complex AI concepts into clear narratives for c-suite leadership.
    • Data‑driven with a clear understanding of metrics and decision inputs.
    • Obsessed with the “why” and cutting through ambiguity.
    • Inclusive, proactive leader who brings multidisciplinary teams with them.

       

      things we’d love to see

    • Experience delivering predictive, generative (LLM/RAG) and/or agentic/Voice AI products in a B2C retail focussed business.
    • Understanding of ML Ops (feature stores, CI/CD, monitoring, evaluation).
    • Strong build-vs‑buy judgement for AI platforms and vendors.
    • Experience operating in regulated environments with Responsible AI awareness.
    • Ability to craft clear narratives and influence senior stakeholders.

     

    Location: We have offices in London, Manchester, Bedford and Hook. Most of our Product & Engineering teams are based in Manchester but we are actively expanding our presence outside of Manchester. We welcome applicants from across the UK who can work in a hybrid model. Subject to government guidance, this hybrid working model will expect employees to spend a few days a month in the office alongside colleagues, while the others can be worked from home. You’ll typically have a base office, which is the one that is closest to you.
